In the tradition of the Impressionists, Colorado artist Ivy Delon’s watercolors and pastels evoke the ethereal beauty of nature in all its glorious transition. Ivy graduated from the Colorado Institute of Art in 1977 and worked in Denver as a graphic designer for five years. Her interest in painting was renewed by a summer workshop in Maine in 1982. Ivy paints from life during the warmer months and uses slide references in the winter. The experience of seeing the landscape and being with it is what excites her most. “Painting seems a perfect response to Nature. The subject becomes more beautiful and alive as I continue to paint it.” Ms. Delon, who resides in Littleton, Colorado, teaches art from her home studio. She paints at various locations throughout Colorado and the Southwest.
